We Grow Food and Community

Purple Frog is a family owned market farm in Whitefish, Montana.
Since 1991, Pam Gerwe and Mike Jopek have slowly coaxed this farm out of rocky clay soil with the help of countless volunteers, community members, and young people.
We're a small local farm near the 49th parallel north and grow food for many locals and some tourists visiting our great town.
We do not use genetically modified seed nor do we use synthetic pesticides or herbicides. We've enjoyed much success with certified paper mulch. Benefits include weed suppression, water retention and warmer soils. We do drip irrgation with field crops and hoophouse production. We spend a lot of time building soil and mulching. The secret to good food is good soil.
We grow berries, fruits and vegetables. Food like raspberries, pears and lettuce or garlic.
We are pleased to offer CSA shares for the 2023 season. We will grow a limited amount weekly veggie Crop CSA shares for Friday farm pickup.
